Superhero of the Week: Eddie Osborn

Superhero of the Week: Eddie Osborn

This week we congratulate Eddie Osborn, a senior at Lake Country Lutheran High School, as our Superhero of the Week!

Sometimes high school can seem like a fight for your life, but for Eddie Osborn it is more of a reality than one could imagine.

When not in class, Eddie spends most of his spare time in his workshop, reading, drawing, writing, or making his friends laugh. He is also co-captain of the Lightning Robotics team, a member of the National Honor Society, and has even been on stage as both Hamlet and the King of Hearts. Yes, from the arts to the sciences, Eddie proves to be a true renaissance man!

However, it has not always been arts and robotics for Eddie. Suddenly, in Eddie's sophomore year of highschool, he began having serious daily seizures. In time it was discovered to be an incredibly rare type of brain tumor (DGONC). Roughly one year and one major surgery later, they were successful in ending one type of Eddie's seizures!

Unfortunately, that wasn't the end of Eddie's medical complications. Although the surgery was considered a success, he has been left with another type of seizure that affects him daily. Eddie's procedures and medications have dealt him a great deal of cognitive fatigue, as well as visual complications.

Despite the complications and set-backs, Eddie pushes forward. He aims to study mechanical engineering at MSOE, a dream that his friends, family, and church all wholeheartedly support. Eddie wishes to thank his principal Dr. Baganz and the staff at LCL, for this nomination and the grace and unwavering support they have given him throughout the years!

You can hear Eddie's story on The Varsity Blitz show this Saturday at 10am on The Big 920 and your Iheart radio app.
