SOLAR Energy FAQs
Solar panel cost, Warranties, and troubleshooting
Q: How much do solar panels cost?
A: On average, residential solar panel systems range anywhere from $15,000 to $30,000 depending on size and complexity of the system. This includes solar panel costs, labor costs (installation and design), wiring and electrical components as well as any extra equipment needed for your solar energy system.
The solar panel cost is usually around $2-$4 per watt of electricity produced by your solar panels. For example, a 5kW solar power system would likely cost between $10-20K for just the solar panels alone. The labor costs for installation will depend on how much work needs to be done in preparing the space for installation and setting up the solar panels. This could be anywhere from $2,000 - $5,000 depending on the size of your solar system and any additional components that need to be added.
Then there are extra costs involved for wiring and electrical components such as disconnects, breakers and other necessary items. These will run you about $1,500 - $3,000 on average for a total solar installation cost of around $15-30K.

The key is to do research ahead of time and find a reputable provider who can provide you with an accurate cost estimations and a trustworthy reputation. Professional, Incredibly Responsive, and in Tune with Each Other
I contacted Current Electric to design and install a residential solar system for my house, after having had a bad experience with a different provider. The several staff I worked with were all very professional, incredibly responsive, and best of all - they were all in tune with each other, so that the service was always seamless, regardless of whom I was speaking to in the moment. I contacted them in April and my system has been up and running for several weeks now.
