MILWAUKEE, Wisc. -- Current Electric applauds the signing of new legislation that will make it more affordable for citizens to take advantage of the benefits of solar energy.

"This legislature is a game-changer for Americans,” Randy Handeland, Current Electric Solar Solutions Engineer said. “The bill will provide reliability and cleaner energy production with a range of incentives to consumers to relieve the costs of energy and decrease utility bills. This includes direct consumer incentives to buy energy efficient appliances, clean vehicles and rooftop solar.”

For starters, the new law extends the Solar Investment Tax Credits. The Solar ITC currently caps at 26%.

Now, solar customers will be able to benefit from a 30% ITC for the next 10 years.
Tax credits also include a $7,500 incentive to buy a new clean vehicle, and up to $4,000 to buy used one.

In addition to the upfront savings through tax incentives, Americans also have the potential to save even more on the cost of gasoline and utility bills by going solar.

More than 9 million new jobs will be created in the next decade thanks to this important legislation,
according to a study by the political Economy Research Institute (PERI). Southeastern Wisconsin will benefit from the job creation with companies like Current Electric that are committed to staying at the forefront of solar power.

“As a pioneer and industry leader in solar energy, Current Electric is committed to hiring and training the next generation of Solar Superheroes,” Chuck Smith, Current Electric Founder said. “If you are
mechanically inclined, work hard and learn fast, we want to hear from you to see if you qualify for our
team.”
